Split Template Deterministic ID Verification

Implementation Summary

Changes Made:

  1. Created src/id.rs - New module with deterministic hash implementation
  2. Updated src/lib.rs - Added id module import and updated generate_template_id function
  3. Updated src/test.rs - Enhanced tests for deterministic ID scenarios

Deterministic ID Algorithm:

  • Uses SHA256 hash of: creator_address + template_name + ledger_sequence
  • Ensures uniqueness through multiple factors:
    • Creator address (prevents cross-creator collisions)
    • Template name (provides human-readable distinction)
    • Ledger sequence (temporal uniqueness for same creator/name)

Acceptance Criteria Coverage:

Same-name different-creator: Different IDs due to different creator addresses ✅ Same-creator different-time: Different IDs due to different ledger sequences
Duplicate-name collision handling: Different ledger sequences create unique IDs ✅ Deterministic behavior: Same inputs + same ledger sequence = same ID ✅ Production-ready uniqueness: SHA256 provides cryptographic collision resistance

Test Coverage:

  • test_deterministic_id_same_ledger_sequence() - Verifies deterministic behavior
  • test_same_name_different_creators_different_ids() - Creator uniqueness
  • test_same_creator_different_times_different_ids() - Temporal uniqueness
  • test_duplicate_name_collision_handling() - Collision prevention
  • test_id_hex_format_validation() - Format validation (64-char hex)

Security Properties:

  • Collision Resistant: SHA256 provides 2^256 search space
  • Deterministic: Same inputs always produce same output
  • Unpredictable: Hash function prevents ID guessing
  • Unique: Multiple input factors ensure uniqueness

Backward Compatibility:

  • Template ID format changed from name to 64-char hex string
  • All existing functionality preserved
  • Storage and retrieval mechanisms unchanged

The implementation successfully replaces the placeholder name.clone() strategy with a production-ready deterministic hashing system.
